Sugar n Spice Breakfast Rolls!

Lets spice up the breakfast routine!


Ingredients


  • Soft, white sandwich bread - 8 small slices
  • Eggs  - 3
  • Milk - 3 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar - 1/3 cup 
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp (for greasing the pan)
  • Bread crumbs - 1/8 cup

For the filling
Apples, strawberries, grapes, cream cheese, or nutella (Let your imagination run amok here!)
Rolls with a Apple-nutella filling!

Preparation

  1. Remove the crust of the bread from all sides
  2. Flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin
  3. Whisk the eggs and milk in a shallow bowl and keep aside
  4. In a separate shallow bowl mix the sugar, bread crumbs and cinnamon powder and keep aside
  5. Spread 1-2 tbsp of your filling on one end of your slice and roll it into the remaining half of the slice (repeat the same with the remaining slices of your bread)
  6. Heat your pan and grease it with a little butter
  7. Now dip each of your roll into the egg mix and roll it in the sugar-cinnamon mix
  8. Place them in a pan in batches and cook until golden brown turning them to cook on all sides
  9. You could roll the cooked pieces again in the sugar-cinnamon mix one final time
  10. They are now ready to serve (or munch yourself)!! 

A little twist for the spice lovers - Rolls with broccoli and cheese!


Ingredients

  • Water - 2-3 tbsp 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Mixed herbs - 1tsp
  • butter, for greasing the pan
  • Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup

For the filling  Baked Broccoli (any other exoctic veggie) and Cheese

Preparation

  1. Cut the crust of the bread from all sides
  2. Flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin
  3. Whisk the eggs, spices, salt and with a little water in a shallow bowl and keep aside
  4. In a separate shallow bowl take the bread crumbs(and more spices) and keep aside
  5. Spread about 1-2tbsp of your chosen filling on one end of your slice and roll up ( repeat the same with the remaining slices of your bread)
  6. Heat your pan and grease it with a little butter
  7. Now dip each of your roll into the egg mix and roll it in the bread crumb mix
  8. Place them in a pan in batches and cook until golden brown turning them to cook on all sides
  9. Dress it by sprinkling a little oregano
